  • 0.5 cup Butter, melted
  • 1 box Yellow cake mix 15.25 oz
  • 2 cans Strawberry pie filling 21 oz each
  • 1 can Evaporated milk 12 oz

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Pour the melted butter evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

  • Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the melted butter.

  • Pour the strawberry pie filling over the cake mix. Do not stir.

  • Slowly pour the evaporated milk over the strawberry filling. Again, do not stir.

  • Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and cooked through.
  • Let it cool for at least 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

This dump cake is incredibly versatile. You can substitute the strawberry pie filling with other fruit fillings like cherry or blueberry. For an extra layer of flavor, you can also sprinkle a little cinnamon over the dry cake mix before baking.
