  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1.5 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box saltine crackers
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup over medium heat.
  • Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 250°F (121°C) on a candy thermometer.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Arrange saltines in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Pour the toffee mixture evenly over the saltines.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let cool completely before breaking into pieces. Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over the cooled toffee.
