Ingredients
  

Crust

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Topping

  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1.5 cups packed brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • For the crust: In a large bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Press the crust mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake the crust for 15-18 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  • For the topping: In a separate bowl, whisk together the chopped pecans, brown sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  • Pour the topping mixture evenly over the partially baked crust.
  • Bake for another 20-25 minutes, or until the topping is set and golden brown.
  • Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
