  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 2.5 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Melted butter

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, sugar, and salt. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add flour and yogurt, mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Punch down the dough and divide it into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into an oval shape.
  • Cook on a hot griddle or baking sheet for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Brush with melted butter while still warm.
