  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 2 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Melted butter

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Add yogurt and melted butter and knead for another 2 minutes.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Punch down the dough and divide it into 6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into an oval shape.
  • Cook naan on a hot griddle or baking sheet for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Notes
