Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
Stir in the garlic powder, diced tomatoes (undrained), cream of mushroom soup, cooked rice, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Top evenly with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve hot. This casserole is delicious on its own or with a side salad.
