  • 1.5 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour blend
  • 0.75 cups granulated sugar
  • 2.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil for frying

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Gently fold in the diced apples.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
  • Remove the fritters from the skillet and place them on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

These fritters are best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
