  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1.5 cup all-purpose flour heat-treated
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the vanilla extract and milk until well combined.
  • In a separate small bowl, whisk together the heat-treated flour and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

To heat-treat the flour, spread it on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, or microwave it until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
