  • 1 cup butter, cold and cubed

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cut in cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Add the sliced apples and toss to coat evenly.
  • Pour the apple mixture into a 9-inch pie plate.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
