For the Cookies

  • 0.5 cup Unsalted Butter softened
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt

For the Glaze

  • 1.5 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • To make the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Dip the tops of the cooled cookies into the glaze.
  • Let the glaze set before serving.

Notes

These cookies are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
