Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Gradually add the cold milk, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat it into a 0.75-inch thick round.
Using a 2-inch round biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits. Re-pat scraps gently and cut again.
In a small bowl, mix together cinnamon and sugar for the coating.
Dip the top of each biscuit into the melted butter, then into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, sugar-side up.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar mixture.
