  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra chewy cookies, try chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
