  • 1 lb Italian Sausage Mild or spicy, your preference
  • 2 Apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended
  • 0.5 cup Onion Chopped
  • 1 tsp Sage Dried

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Peel and cube the butternut squash. Sauté the onion until softened.
  • Brown the sausage in a skillet, then add the squash, apples, onion, and sage. Cook until slightly softened.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the squash is tender.

Notes

Serve warm. Can be topped with fresh herbs or a sprinkle of cheese.
