  • 1 bottle Red wine such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 0.5 cup Brandy
  • 0.25 cup Orange liqueur like Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • 1 cup Fresh blueberries
  • 1 orange Orange sliced
  • 1 lime Lime sliced
  • 1 cup Lemon-lime soda chilled

Preparation Steps

  • In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, and orange liqueur. Stir well.
  • Add the fresh blueberries, sliced orange, and sliced lime to the pitcher.
  • Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Just before serving, pour in the chilled lemon-lime soda and stir gently.
  • Serve the sangria over ice, garnishing with extra blueberries and fruit slices if desired.

Notes

For a sweeter sangria, you can add a tablespoon or two of simple syrup. This recipe can also be made with white wine or rosé.
